Benthic dissolved iron fluxesDuring my undergraduate studies, I worked with Dr. Tom Weber on a senior thesis project to constrain global benthic iron fluxes to the ocean’s water column. The findings of this research are crucial for predicting accurate dissolved iron concentrations in the water column, which is an important factor for primary production in surface waters and hence the ocean’s carbon dioxide uptake. Collaborators in the Weber Lab are still working on some additions to this project, and results will soon be incorporated into a manuscript.
